Terms Of Service

Last updated October 04, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

RelicDB is a collectibles reference catalog and personal-collection service operated by Eko Wave LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the site you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. The service

RelicDB provides a community-maintained catalog of collectible items (trading cards, comics, coins, stamps, action figures, and similar), tools to track a personal collection against that catalog, and a pipeline for suggesting corrections and additions to catalog data. Browsing the catalog does not require an account; contributing and collection tracking do.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for your account and for keeping its credentials secure. Accounts are individual — one person per account. You must provide accurate registration information and be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

4. Catalog contributions

You keep your rights. You retain any rights you hold in your contributions. For text and other non-image material you submit to the catalog, you grant Eko Wave LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license, limited to the rights you hold or are authorized to license, to reproduce, store, format, and display that material and incorporate accepted contributions into the catalog. These permissions are only for reviewing submissions, maintaining the catalog and its audit history, and providing RelicDB's catalog and related service features. The license for contributed images is set out in section 5.

Service providers. We may allow service providers, such as hosting and storage providers, to exercise the permissions in sections 4 and 5 only on our behalf and as needed for those same purposes. These licenses do not authorize those providers to use your content for their own independent purposes.

Private collection content. Your collection notes, import files, and other private collection content are not catalog contributions unless you separately submit them to the catalog. For this content, you grant us a separate nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license, limited to the rights you hold or are authorized to license, to reproduce, store, process, and display it only as needed to provide the collection features you use, follow your sharing choices, and maintain security and backups. This permission does not authorize us to publish private content in the catalog. It ends when the content is deleted, except to the extent necessary for lawful retention and backup handling described in the Privacy Policy; any retained copies remain subject to those limits.

How long the catalog licenses last. The catalog licenses in this section and section 5 continue for as long as the contribution is part of the catalog or lawfully retained in its audit history, including after account closure. They are subject to applicable law, including any statutory right to terminate a license, and our privacy and copyright removal policies. If content is removed from public display, any continuing permission is limited to handling the removal and lawfully retaining records or backups; it does not authorize continued public display of the removed content.

Catalog history can outlast your account. The catalog keeps an append-only audit trail, and ordinary corrections are made by new submissions rather than by editing past ones. Deleting your account removes its direct association with your contributions; it does not automatically erase those contributions or personal information included in their contents. Retention and requests to remove personal information are subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights to have personal information removed.

You appear publicly by your username, which doesn't need to be your real name. Profile visibility, public edit credit, and list sharing are separate controls. A Private profile still shows your username, avatar, and membership date; turning off edit credit does not hide your profile or public lists. These settings do not remove the account information available to site administrators. See the Privacy Policy for details, including account deletion and privacy requests.

5. Images

Stock images. Stock images are reference images from manufacturers, publishers, or other rights holders and may be supplied by the data sources credited on each page. They belong to their respective rights holders and illustrate a collectible's general appearance rather than the specific item you own. Imported or separately licensed images remain subject to the applicable source terms and rights-holder permissions; the contribution licenses in these terms do not replace or expand those permissions. We do not grant you a license to copy, bulk-download, or redistribute these images. See our copyright policy.

Your uploads. By uploading an image you confirm you have the right to submit it and grant the permissions below. Your own scans and photographs are preferred. Stock images and images from other databases, marketplaces, or publications may be submitted only if you have permission covering both the upload and RelicDB's uses described here. Owning a collectible or making a scan or photograph does not by itself give you rights to the artwork, design, or other protected material it depicts.

Preparing your images. When submitting a scan, photograph, or stock image of any collectible, you may crop excess background or make other presentation adjustments as permitted by the applicable source terms and permissions. You must not crop out, cover, or erase copyright lines, artist or creator credits, maker's marks, or identifying labels. Preserve the details that identify the item and distinguish its version or variation. See the contribution guidelines for main-image preferences, including images of rare or hard-to-find items.

Source watermarks. Catalog images must not contain watermarks added by other databases, marketplaces, auction sites, or data sources, even when you have permission to use the image. Do not erase or crop out a source watermark to bypass this rule. Use your own scan or photograph, or obtain an authorized version without the watermark. Original creator credits and copyright notices are not prohibited by this rule and must be preserved.

Limited image license. To the extent you hold the rights or are authorized to grant them, you grant Eko Wave LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, store, resize, format, and display submitted catalog images only to review submissions, maintain catalog records and their audit history, and display the images within RelicDB's catalog pages, search results, browse grids, collections, lists, dashboards, and related service interfaces. Service providers may assist only as described in section 4, and the duration and removal limits in that section apply to this license. Image edits must preserve the item's identifying details and distinguishing features and comply with applicable source terms and permissions.

No image redistribution. These permissions do not authorize us to distribute contributor images through data exports, bulk image downloads, or APIs, or to license them to others for independent use. Catalog images and their direct image URLs are not included in data exports or APIs; those features may link to the RelicDB catalog page instead.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or deliberately false;
  • spam the contribution or report queues, or use automation to flood any submission surface;
  • scrape the service at volumes that degrade it, or circumvent rate limits;
  • impersonate another person, or harass other users or catalog subjects.

7. Moderation

Contributions are reviewed by administrators before they change the catalog. We may reject submissions, remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts at our discretion, particularly for violations of these terms. Anyone — with or without an account — can flag problems via the "Report a problem" links; see our copyright policy for infringement claims.

8. Affiliate links

Item pages may show live marketplace listings (currently eBay). Outbound listing links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Listings are provided by the marketplace and we make no representation about them.

9. Intellectual property

The names, logos, and imagery of the collectibles catalogued here belong to their respective rights holders; RelicDB catalogs factual information about those items and is not affiliated with or endorsed by those rights holders.

Eko Wave LLC or its licensors retain their rights in RelicDB's software, original content, and any legally protected selection or arrangement of the catalog. We do not claim ownership of the underlying facts, your contributions, or third-party artwork and other content. Our permission to use contributions is limited to sections 4 and 5; imported or separately licensed content remains subject to its applicable source terms and permissions.

Display on RelicDB does not by itself grant you a license to reuse another person's content. Any reuse must be permitted by the rights holder, an applicable license, or law. Nothing in these terms limits uses that applicable law permits without permission.

10. Disclaimers

RelicDB and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eko Wave LLC disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that catalog data, images, marketplace listings, or other information on RelicDB are accurate, complete, reliable, current, or free of errors, or that the service will be available without interruption or errors. Catalog content is community-maintained and may contain mistakes or omissions. Nothing on RelicDB is authentication, grading, valuation, or investment advice. You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it, including when buying, selling, or trading collectibles.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eko Wave LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising out of or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on RelicDB or its content. This includes losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information, third-party listings or transactions, service interruptions, or loss of data, and includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages and loss of profits or revenue. This exclusion applies whether a claim is based on contract, tort (including ordinary negligence), or another legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of the loss or damage.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. The warranty disclaimers and liability exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not waive any mandatory consumer rights you may have.

12. Termination

You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections 4, 5, and 9–11 survive termination, subject to applicable law and the retention and privacy-request provisions described in section 4 and the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated at the top of this page and, where required, you'll be asked to accept them on your next sign-in.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections under the laws of your country or state of residence that apply regardless of this choice of law.
