About RelicDB

RelicDB is a reference catalog for the things people collect — trading cards, comics, coins, stamps, action figures, console games — and a place to track your own collection against it. It's built by Eko Wave.

The idea

Collecting communities each keep their knowledge in different silos: one database for Magic cards, another for sports cards, checklists in forum threads for everything else. RelicDB models what those hobbies share — printings, variants, parallels, sets, subjects, provenance — in one catalog with one contribution pipeline, so knowledge compounds instead of fragmenting.

How the catalog is built

Games with open data sources are imported in bulk — Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Disney Lorcana today. Everything else grows through contributor submissions, reviewed by administrators before going live. Each item's page credits the source it was imported from and the contributors who have edited it, and every change after import is recorded in an append-only audit trail.
