Frequently asked questions
What is RelicDB?
A community-maintained reference catalog for collectibles — trading cards, comics, coins, stamps, action figures, and more — plus tools to track your own collection against it.
Is it free?
Yes. There are no ads and no paid tiers. Item pages show marketplace listings through affiliate links (currently eBay); if you buy through one we may earn a commission at no cost to you. That's the whole business model.
Where does the catalog data come from?
Catalog data comes from bulk imports and contributor submissions. Our current import sources cover four trading card games: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Disney Lorcana. Contributors add and improve records across all collectible categories. Each item's page credits its source and its contributors under "Sources & credits", and every change after import is recorded in the same append-only audit trail.
How do I fix something that's wrong?
Sign in and use the "Suggest an edit" link on the record. Only fill in what you want to change, cite your source, and an administrator will review it. See the contribution guidelines.
How do I track my collection?
From any item page: "+ Add to collection" records a copy in one click; "Details" beside it captures details (condition, grading, price paid, storage). The Want List button below it works the same way for items you're looking for. You can also quick-add straight from search results and set pages, organize what you have into collection lists, track set completion, and group your Want List into want lists.
Is my collection public?
Collection data is private by default. If you make a want list or smart want list public, anyone with its link can see its items and your username. A public smart list also shows which items you have or need and your completion progress. Item notes, priorities, and prices stay private.
What do Public, Hidden, and Private profiles mean?
Public profiles show contribution statistics and public lists, and can appear in the contributor directory after an accepted edit. Hidden profiles show the same information to anyone with the link but are excluded from that directory. Private profiles hide statistics and the profile's lists section and are also excluded from the directory. All three still show your username, avatar, and membership date.
"Credit my edits publicly" is separate: turning it off removes your catalog contributor credits, not your profile or public lists. Making your profile Private does not make a public list private — change each list's own setting to stop sharing it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Where do the images come from?
Catalog images include contributor scans and photographs of real items, as well as stock images. Stock images are reference images from manufacturers, publishers, or other rights holders and may be supplied through the credited data source. They show a collectible's general appearance, not the condition of the specific item you own. Stock images belong to their respective rights holders and are shown only on RelicDB pages. See the stock image policy.
Can I get the data through an API?
A read-only catalog API is planned. It will serve factual data only — no images, which stay on RelicDB pages where source terms and rights-holder permissions are respected.
I found something that shouldn't be here.
Every catalog page has a "Report a problem" link — no account needed. Copyright claims can also go through the copyright policy.
